Originally from Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada, Rob has been centered in Toronto for the last thirty years, after completing studies at the Eastman School of Music in Rochester, NY. Rob has been involved in the jazz, latin jazz and jobbing scenes, performed and composed for his own ensembles, as well as being active as a sideman. In addition, Rob is very busy as a ballet accompanist, and is known worldwide for his ballet accompaniment albums.

Rob has been accompanying ballet for over 30 years, for the last 20 as a full time pianist at Canada's National Ballet School. Rob's 19 (and counting) ballet albums are among the most popular wordwide, and are available on your favorite streaming platforms. .

Piano Coach

With a degree in classical piano, a Masters in Jazz and Contemporary Media from the Eastman School of Music, and years of ballet accompanying experience, as well as experience in wedding bands and accompanying musical theatre, Rob has a wealth of experiences to draw upon. His coaching specialties are - general improvisation, jazz for non-jazz pianists, and learning to play for ballet.
